FAQ

The provider's name is spelled incorrectly in the clinical note. How can I fix it?

You can add or correct provider names in the dictionary under Settings → Provider List. See the Provider List manual for detailed instructions.

What if Scribe doesn't recognize a medical term?

Add terms under Settings → Medical Terms. The dictionary improves recognition and spelling in notes. See the Medical Terms manual for detailed instructions.

How long are recordings stored?

We store recordings without a set time limit. However, if your organization has specific privacy or data retention requirements, we can customize how long recordings are stored or visible within the Scribe interface to match your preferences.

How is personal data protected?

Denti.AI Scribe is fully HIPAA compliant. All recordings, transcripts, and notes are securely stored in HIPAA-compliant storage systems: Amazon AWS and Google Cloud.

Do I need to pause recording during a procedure, or can I keep it running the whole time?

You don't need to stop the recording during a procedure. While background noise might occasionally appear as irrelevant phrases in the transcript, the AI filters them out when generating the summary, ensuring it focuses only on key details of the conversation.

Will Scribe capture profanity from patients?

We apply a profanity filter to the transcript to remove offensive wording. Some irrelevant words may still appear occasionally in raw transcripts; they are filtered out of the generated clinical note.

Do I need to inform patients they are being recorded?

We recommend having a comprehensive technology and digital media consent that covers pictures, AI-powered diagnostic aids, posting on social media, recording phone calls, clinical conversations, and more.

Does Scribe work on iPhone or iPad?

Yes. Install the Denti.AI Voice Assistant from the App Store, then link it to your account. Record on iPhone or iPad and hand off to a desktop to finalize the note. See the Mobile Scribe manual for more details.

What does "N/D" mean, and how can I change it?

"N/D" stands for "Not Discussed." It's the default empty response Scribe uses when a detail wasn't covered during the visit. Change the global value in Settings → Default Empty Response. For structured notes, set a per-field default inside the AI field to override the global setting, for example, "None reported" for Medications.

How can I confirm that the conversation is being recorded?

Check the mic button: it should be green with no error icon. When Scribe is minimized, the pen icon also indicates active recording. Make sure the transcript starts appearing within a few seconds after starting or resuming recording.
If no recording is made, check the browser mic permissions, then confirm and test another microphone from the recording button menu. If there is still no audio, contact Support for help.
